Single Site Verification
TEMS Cloud allows commercial devices to be used by non-technical staff to commission new Radio Network Sites.
TEMS Cloud allows non-technical staff to perform single site verification (or site commissioning), without needing to know how to operate the tool, or what measurements need to be performed.
They only need to be told where to go, execute the predefined workflow containing all the required tests and the tool will clearly indicate when each test is completed and if the acceptance criteria is passed. After the completion all resulting data is uploaded centrally, and a new site can be tested.

Auto-pinpointing
Reduce time to collect indoor measurements by about 50%
5G scanning with PCTEL IBflex™, MXflex™ and HBflex™
TEMS Pocket provides a lightweight solution for 5G scanning.
Connect your scanner via Bluetooth or USB to your TEMS Pocket device. It saves weight compared to a PC-based solution, and makes it optimal for indoor and walk testing. The PCTEL scanner is a highly flexible test tool for the traditional wireless spectrum. With 5G NR testing capabilities on sub-6 GHz bands, it can be used to clear spectrum or test 5G NR alongside LTE, legacy 3G, and 2G wireless network technologies.
TEMS Pocket can perform 5G NR RSSI scan and NR Signal Scan over multiple NR-ARFCN’s using the PCTEL IBflex scanner or the PCTEL HBflex scanner. In TEMS Pocket 24 it is also possible to select NR-ARFCN’s with different sub-carrier spacing (SCS).
5G Signal Scan is supported in TEMS Pocket allowing indoor 5G network site coverage to be measured accurately. The NR Cell ID and Beam Index of the 8 strongest beams per SS Burst are shown in the GUI. Each Beam SSS RP, SSS RQ, and CINR are shown.
Auto-pinpointing
The automatic pinpointing, utilizing technology available in most smartphones supported by TEMS Pocket reduces the time to collect measurements with about 50%.
Instead of focusing on where to add the next pinpoint, you can now walk at your own pace making use of the built-in smart positioning functions in the phone. The auto pinpointing also leads to a more accurate positioning of each measurement, which in 5G NR becomes even more important.
This is part of our automation program for smart testing and is currently included in TEMS Pocket Professional offerings.

Additional Features
UE Vital Signs
UE vital Signs are now reported in the TEMS Pocket logfile (CPU, RAM and Battery Temp) for troubleshooting CPU throttling or possible device performance issues when testing in demanding 5G environments.
5G NR Cell-File Support
5G NR cell-file support has been added to the map view to further increase the visibility and troubleshooting of 5G networks. This feature allows the serving cell to be monitored directly on the online map.
Expand Information Elements on all chipsets
From TEMS Pocket 24 over 270+ information elements are collected for each chipset type. Each can be analysed and reported on. On HiSilicon chipset a further 70+ information elements were added in TEMS Pocket 24.
Support for Android 12
TEMS Pocket 24 supports devices that use Android 12.
Improved 5G Data Views
In TEMS Pocket 24 many new 5G Data Views have been introduced, and the ability to view more 5G Information Elements is introduced. In addition, LTE and 5G NR Data Views are split, so that more relevant information is available. The handling of Multi-RAT and CA information is improved. A new 5G view for LTE / 5G data throughput allows analysis per layer (PDCP/RLC/MAC/Phy).
Improved Network Attach/Detach
To improve registration testing, the Network Attach/Detach functionality (in some cases called Flight Mode) in TEMS Pocket has been reworked. This gives more stable and reliable results recorded to logfiles available on more devices.
Centralized Test and Result Administration
TEMS Pocket devices can be controlled remotely from TEMS Director Fleet. This enables teams of TEMS Pocket users to be controlled from a single site. We have also introduced support for TEMS Pocket units in Controller mode. These can also receive works orders from TEMS Director Fleet, thus simplifying large scale deployments of both outdoor and indoor testing.
In situations where multiple TEMS Pocket devices need to perform the same tests, using identical maps-sets and scripts, TEMS Director Fleet can synchronize all aspects. Centralized administration of test scripts and maps saves time and ensure accuracy, and using the automatic data upload you also benefit from immediate results delivered to the central point.
Enhanced Control Functions
Now supporting RAT lock on 5G technology in SA domain. To perform complex 5G test cases, it is also possible to lock on NR ARFCN and PCI.
Further functionality and logging will be added in upcoming releases, please contact
TEMS Sales for more information.

New backpack with improved Controller-Agent
A brand-new backpack improving the TEMS Pocket Controller/Agent solution is introduced with TEMS Pocket 24.
The backpack is intended for walk-testing with a larger number of devices simultaneously using a single controller device. It includes a built-in CPU ensuring the USB-based communication between the controller and the agents is much more stable than the earlier Bluetooth-based solution.
Highlights:
TEMS Pocket supports NB-IoT
This means that LTE NB-IoT networks can now be tested from a handheld device. Leveraging the auto-pinpointing functionality, NB-IoT testing can be done extremely efficiently. Most NB-IoT devices with a USB connector can be used, but we have good results using the Exelonix R410m that supports Band: 5, 8, 20, 28. Detailed reporting is available using the Qualcomm feature for detailed radio logging in .trp file.
Our solution is based on service testing focusing on UDP / HTTP / DoNAS (RTT) / attach / detach procedures. With device control managed in TEMS Pocket script execution via AT commands ensure quick adaptation to any supported service on the device. Views in the Idle category are populated, and measurements are recorded to logfiles for further analysis in TEMS Investigation or TEMS Discovery.
The new backpack can hold up to 12 TEMS Pocket devices.

Test with latest TEMS devices
TEMS Pocket 24 supports the use of commercial off-the-shelf devices.
Initially, devices with commercial firmware based on Qualcomm-based chipsets can be used. As part of TEMS Pocket they can perform service testing including testing of data services like iPerf, HTTP and Ping. To be able to perform tests accurately an external stand-alone CPU needs to be attached to the device USB port, to issue the tests and collect some of the results. This also allows control functions (such as RAT and Band Locking) to be supported. The hardware option will also make it possible to perform Audio tests on commercial devices going forward.
Two versions are available, a Stand-Alone mode for a single commercial device, and a Controller-Agent mode, where TEMS Pocket Backpack v4 and our standard Contoller/Agent set up allows for up to 12 commercial devices to be used in parallel.
