Upgrade your PCTEL scanners for 5G
PCTEL IBflex™ or MXflex™ scanners can be upgraded to be able to test and measure 5G NR.
The PCTEL IBflex and MXflex scanners are highly flexible test tools for traditional wireless spectrum. With 5G NR testing capabilities on sub-6 GHz bands, it can be used to clear spectrum or test 5G NR alongside LTE, NB-IoT, Wi-Fi, and legacy 3G and 2G wireless network technologies.
TEMS Investigation 21.2 can perform 5G NR RSSI scan and spectrum analysis using the PCTEL IBflex scanner or MXflex scanner.
It supports the latest firmware of the PCTEL IBflex or MXflex scanners that enables 5G NR Signal Scan measurements.
For strongest beams (of the Primary and Secondary Synchronization Signals) per NR-ARFCN/GSCN, the scanner can measure the following parameters like:
• Received Power/Quality/Signal Strength
• CINR
• Beam information
• Cell information

5G Scanning with Rohde & Schwarz TSME6
The Rohde & Schwarz TSME6 ultra compact drive test scanner is a high-power platform for optimizing all conventional mobile radio networks.
The TSME6 is a highly flexible test tool for traditional wireless spectrum. With 5G NR testing capabilities on sub-6 GHz bands, it can be used to clear spectrum or test 5G NR alongside LTE and legacy 3G and 2G wireless network technologies.
In later version of TEMS Investigation 21.x, we will perform 5G NR RSSI scan and Spectrum Analysis using the Rohde & Schwarz TSME6 scanner.
For strongest beams (of the Primary and Secondary Synchronization Signals) per NR-ARFCN/GSCN, the scanner will measure the following parameters:
• Received Power/Quality/Signal Strength
• CINR
• Beam information
• Cell information
We now support a TSME6 configured with DC30 to support 5GNR mmWave measurements.

Know your network ranking with umlaut score indicator
In recent years, a number of independent telecom experts have started to report on the performance of mobile networks. The reports plays an increasingly important role in defining customer perception of network quality and performance.
Recent research indicates that the mobile operator ranked first in a country experience a churn rate 6-8% better than average! So network ranking may even effect the share price of mobile operators. Understanding what these experts are likely to say about a network (in advance) is becoming increasingly important.
The leading expert in this field is umlaut communications GmbH (previously known as P3 Communications GmbH), who have ranked mobile network performance in more than 70 countries over the past 15 years. The umlaut score indicator generated by the exhaustive tests has been used by analysts around the world to evaluate the performance of many mobile operators.
In order to provide the most accurate score, umlaut communications GmbH (umlaut) use our TEMS equipment to measure various Key Performance Indicators.
Users of TEMS Investigation 21.2 will be able to send TEMS log-files to Infovista and have them evaluated by umlaut.
TEMS Investigation 21.2 customers will be able to order an umlaut score indicator for the networks in their country and understand how they compare with the dozens of mobile operators that have already been scored by umlaut.
As part of this service, Infovista will provide a mentoring service to ensure that measurements are made in accordance with the stringent umlaut recommendations. umlaut have spent years developing their score, and the rules that need to be obeyed in order to gain consistent results.
Infovista will make this service available to all TEMS Investigation 21.2 customers that have the latest features and devices (as used by umlaut).
The umlaut score indicator will be sold as an annual service.

Planet Server for Automation
Planet Server is a powerful centralized solution which extends Planet capabilities to support planning tasks automation, multi-users collaboration and map publishing.
It automates the production of coverage or capacity maps, based on data from the Planet database and from any other external sources of data.
Planet Server enables engineers to automate all underlying RF predictions of the air interface performance but also automates all the steps required to produce customized coverage and capacity maps.
A typical use case could be the analysis of the network capacity and coverage under different traffic demands. These maps can then be combined to produce high-level representations of an operator’s wireless network capacity and coverage.
All planning results such as network data, coverage maps, and statistics can then made easily accessible to external stakeholders from a simple web page.
Immediate benefits are to streamline production related to planning activities while at the same time reducing the risk of errors and time typically associated with manual processes.
